NEW YORK, NY, USA: Foreign Minister and member of the Royal Family of Bahrain Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa has invited Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda the Honourable Gaston Browne to share his government’s vision for development with members of the private sector and government of Bahrain.

During a bilateral meeting on Monday at the United Nations, the Foreign Minister told Prime Minister Browne that there are many investment opportunities for Antigua and Barbuda in Bahrain and his government is eager to work along with him in the development of Antigua and Barbuda.

The Foreign Minister also congratulated Prime Minister Browne on his party’s election victory and his appointment as prime minister.  Both officials also pledged to advance the relations between their countries with Sheikh Khalid expressing his eagerness to strengthen the relations in economy and trade.

The two leaders also discussed issues on the United Nations agenda including the reform of the United Nations Security Council, terrorism and climate change.

Following the meeting with Sheikh Khalid, Prime Minister Browne also held discussions with President of Guyana Donald Ramotar during which issues of cooperation with Antigua and Barbuda, Venezuela and other CARICOM countries were discussed.

The matter of Antigua and Barbuda’s candidate for the position of Commonwealth Secretary General was also discussed along with matters of trade and immigration.
