Asot Michael’s Residence Droned

St Johns, Antigua, January 8^th, 2023 – Two drones flying over the Dry Hill residence four term Member of Parliament Asot Michael in the afternoon of January 8^th, 2023, have raised security concerns for his family and campaign team.

When the drones appeared shortly before 5:00 p.m. hovering over the property, campaign staffers assembled for meetings became fearful that they were being spied on. Two female campaign administration assistants, worried that the drones placed them in harms way wanted to leave the meetings and get home to safety.

It was later learned that the operator of one of the drones was actually taking picture of sunset. He came to the residence, explained what he was doing and gave a statement to members of the Special Services Unit (SSU) who responded to a complaint from the St Peter’s MP.

But nothing is known of the second drone, that moved away when it became obvious that it was the subject of attention from persons in the yard of the Dry Hill residence.

The matter is under investigation.
